TrueNest Pro 3.8.2 is the current version. The version you have shows at the top right of the panel. The newest changes come first.
Version 3.8.2
- Clipping masks stay intact. With Sort onto layers after nesting ticked, your clipping masks stay in place. Before, sorting onto layers could release them.
- Cut lines with holes stay whole. With the same option ticked, a cut line with holes reaches the cut layer in one piece. Before, its holes could come apart from it.
Version 3.8.1
- Tighter nesting around pieces with holes or slots. Such a piece now counts by its outer outline, so other pieces can fit into its open hollows, like the inside of a U. The holes themselves stay empty. Kits with such pieces can nest tighter: about 12% shorter on one real 38-piece kit, in that example.
- Automatic retry. If a calculation stops unexpectedly, the panel notices and tries again by itself.
- Incomplete layouts refused. A layout with a missing piece, or a piece placed twice, is refused and not applied.
- Settings checked first. Spacing that leaves under 0.5 mm between cuts, or a blade margin over 50 mm, is refused before the calculation starts.
- No computer restart after updating. After an update, nesting uses the new version without restarting the computer.
- No preselected machine. Registration marks no longer picks a machine for you. If it shows Choose your machine... after updating, choose your machine once.
- Messages in your language. Most panel messages that still showed in English are now translated into all 6 languages, and the Portuguese panel uses the current spelling. Some technical details in brackets stay in English.
- Unplaced pieces explained. A piece left without a place is listed with the reason. Reasons the panel recognises are shown in the panel's language, and any other reason is shown as it is.
Version 3.8
- Mac and Windows. A .zxp file for Mac and a .zip file for 64-bit Windows, for Illustrator 2020 or later.
- True-shape nesting. Choose 8 s, 30 s or 1 min. The layout shows in the panel before anything moves, and big kits fill up to 40 sheets.
- Finishing tools. Right after Apply: sorting onto cut and print layers, up to three logos in the gaps, the order number on the sheet, and registration marks in beta (check your first sheet before you print a run).
- 6 panel languages. English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese, with sizes in millimetres, centimetres or inches.
